Kamloops paddlers at it again
Three Kamloops athletes performed well at the Canadian Sprint Canoe/Kayak Championships, which wrapped up on Sunday, Aug. 28, in Welland, Ont.
Keiffer Johnson and Zach Morgan won silver in the midget men's C2 1,000-metre race.
Johnson also won silver in the midget men's C1 200-metre and placed seventh in the midget men's C1 1,000-metre.
Morgan placed ninth in the midget men's C1 200-metre.
Brook McLean also had a strong showing at nationals, placing seventh in the midget women's 6,000- and 1,000 metre races, eighth in the midget women's C1 200-metre and ninth in the juvenile women's C1 500-metre.
Johnson, Morgan and McLean won a combined 19 medals as part of Team B.C. at the Western Canada Summer Games, which wrapped up earlier this month in the River City.
