Storm open KIJHL season at home
The junior B Kamloops Storm open their 2011-2012 regular-season Kootenay International Junior Hockey League schedule at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, when the Fernie Ghostriders visit McArthur Island Sports Centre.
Kamloops is in the league’s Okanagan-Shuswap Conference, playing in the Doug Birks Division along with the Chase Heat, North Okanagan Knights, Revelstoke Grizzlies and Sicamous Eagles.
The Storm finished second in their division last season with a record of 24-24-0-2.
Fernie won the division, posting a 40-9-0-1 mark.
Kamloops knocked off Sicamous in Round 1 of the playoffs last season before falling to Revelstoke in the Birks Division final.
