Wildcats tamed by Yellowjackets
The Vernon Yellowjackets handed the peewee Kamloops Wildcats a 28-0 loss in Kamloops Community Football action on Sunday, Sept. 18, in Vernon.
Nick Berry, Sean Smit, Darcy Rowden, Jerret Horn and Trevor Vlchek led the Wildcats defence with 22 combined tackles, while Kyle Watt managed to block a convert attempt.
Strong offensive-line play by Jaxon Henry, Reeve Martin and Logan Henry allowed for Ben Prokopetz, Adam Buholzer and Reggie O’Rourke to run for 78 yards collectively and for quarterback Carsen Day to throw for 27 more.
The Wildcats travel to Kelowna on Sunday, Sept. 25, to play the top-seeded Kelowna Lions.
Kamloops is 0-2-1 on the season.
