The Kamloops Storm are on a roll.

After doubling the Heat in Chase on Tuesday, Sept. 20, Kamloops recorded two wins in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action on the weekend.

The Storm handled the North Okanagan Knights with ease on Sunday, Sept. 25, at McArthur Island Sports Centre, winning that matchup 7-1.

Kevin Leschuk, Tyler Jackson, Diego Cuglietta, Colten DeFrias (2), Blake Culbert and Brett Dallen scored in the lop-sided victory.

Lyndon Stanwood stopped 56 of the 57 shots that came his way between the pipes for the Storm.

Kamloops had a tougher time with the Grizzlies in Revelstoke on Friday, Sept. 23.

A Colten DeFrias goal early in double overtime gave the Storm a 3-2 win.

Chase Edwards and Ryan Harrison also scored for the River City junior B squad.

Stanwood stopped 35 shots in the victory.

Kamloops (4-1-0-1), which sits tied with Revelstoke atop the league’s Doug Birks Division, welcomes the Heat to McArthur at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30.

The Heat are winless in five games and are last place in the Birks Division.
