  • Raiders Rugby

The Kamloops Rugby Club Raiders have a full slate of rugby scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1.

KRC’s women meet Meraloma Rugby Club of Vancouver at 11 a.m. and the Raiders’ men take on Chillwack at 1 p.m.

The club is also hosting a social night on Saturday.

Canada, in its last 2011 Rugby World Cup match, will play the New Zealand All Blacks at 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in enjoying a steak dinner and watching the game is invited to the clubhouse.

Tickets are $15.

Both games and the social night will be held at KRC, located at 471 Chilcotin Rd.

  • Blazers and Giants

The Kamloops Blazers look to bounce back from a season-opening loss to the Prince George Cougars when the Vancouver Giants lumber into the River City.

Don Hay’s Giants and Guy Charron’s Blazers face off at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at Interior Savings Centre.

Blazers’ captain Chase Schaber questioned his squad’s effort level in the loss to Prince George, so look for the Blazers to come out hot.

  • Back the WolfPack

The TRU WolfPack men’s and women’s soccer teams will be in action at Hillside Stadium this weekend.

TRU’s men and women play the Vancouver Island University Mariners on Saturday, Oct 1, and the Capilano University Blues on Sunday, Oct. 2.

The men’s games kick off at 2 p.m., the women’s at noon.

TRU’s men moved to 12th place in the Canadian  Colleges Athletic Association rankings after a come-from-behind 3-3 tie with the UBC Okanagan Heat last weekend.
