Fight breaks out at Blazers' practice, captain involved
Kamloops Blazers' captain Chase Schaber administered some tough love at practice on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
With the competitive juices flowing, defenceman Tyler Hansen got in his captain's face and cross-checked Schaber multiple times.
The 6-foot-3, 193-pound defenceman did not heed his captain's warning to stand down and a fight broke out.
It did not end well for Hansen, who absorbed three punches and fell to the ice.
Schaber had X-rays on his hand — they came back negative.
The hand is swollen, but he will be in the lineup on Friday (Oct. 7) when the Spokane Chiefs are in town.
Hansen has no concussion-like symptoms and will also be ready to go on Friday.
The two combatants smoothed things over on Wednesday night over dinner.
Puck drop on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Interior Savings Centre.
