Bantam Blazers attend Chilliwack tourney

The bantam tier 1 Kamloops Jardine's Blazers posted a 3-2 record at a tournament in Chilliwack on Thanksgiving Weekend.

Kamloops opened the tourney with a 5-2 win over Wenatchee.

Addison Bazian (2), Nick Chyzowski, Cole Perison and Reede Bentz bulged the twin for Kamloops in support of goaltender Bailey De Palma.

Bazian, Dexter Robinson (2), Kevin Davis and Joe Falsetta provided assists.

In Game 2, the Blazers fell 4-1 to Burnaby Winter Club (BWC).

Bazian scored from Davis and Chyzowski in support of netminder Josh Shank.

Kamloops bounced back in their third game, cruising to a 5-1 win over Port Coquitlam.

Chyzowski, Bentz, Alex Winters (2) and Jacob Faraday scored for the Blazers.

Bazian (2), Robinson Michael Fidanza (2) and Max James had helpers.

De Palma recorded the win in net.

In their fourth game, Kamloops topped Nanaimo 3-1.

Winters, James and Dante Callier scored, with Chyzowski, Davis and James adding assists.

Kamloops, in their last game of the tournament, was on the wrong end of a 9-1 scoreline against BWC.

Bazian had the Blazers' only goal in support of De Palma.

 

Peewee tier 1 Blazers earn bronze

The peewee tier 1 Kamloops Jardine's Blazers won bronze at a tournament hosted by Burnaby Winter Club (BWC) on Thanksgiving Weekend.

Kamloops topped Juan de Fuca 2-1 in the bronze-medal game.

Ty Kolle and Brendan Semchuk scored in support of netminder Max Palaga.

The Vancouver T-Birds edged the Blazers 3-2 in overtime in the semifinal.

Tyler Ward and Mike Van Unen scored for Kamloops in support of goaltender Reid Gladman.

Kamloops opened its tourney with a 3-2 win over Seafair.

Semchuk, Rylan Van Unen and Max Patterson scored for the Blazers, who went with Palaga in net.

In their second game, Kamloops edged South Delta 3-1.

Ward scored twice and Matthew Facchinelli added a single.

Gladman earned the win between the pipes.

Kamloops closed its round-robin with a 3-1 loss to BWC.

Semchuk lit the lamp for the Blazers, who went with Palaga in net.

 

Raiders in tough in Chilliwack

The peewee tier 2 Kamloops Players Bench Raiders posted a 1-2-1 record at a tournament in Abbotsford on Thanksgiving Weekend.

Kamloops opened the tourney by tying Surrey 4-4.

Brendan Mongey scored twice, with Parker Matheson and Conan Poss notching singles.

Matheson, Bennet Hunter and Harrison Rosch added assists.

Nic Boehm got the win in net.

The Raiders, in their second game, fell 6-1 to Cowichan.

Wyatt Brook scored Kamloops' only goal in support of netminder Kendra Woodland.

Kamloops, in its third game, was blanked 3-0 by Snokings.

Boehm was in net for the loss.

The Raiders closed the tourney out with a 7-0 win over Abbotsford.

Brook (3), Matheson (2), Mongey and Hunter scored for Kamloops.

Matheson, Mongey (2), Poss, Gabriel Graham-Boyde, Keenan Gannon, Jaxon Reid and Matthew Richardson added assists.

 

Summerland feels the sting

A midget tier 3 Kamloops Minor Hockey Association squad earned a 5-2 win over Summerland on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Gio Ramunno (2), Riley Polacik, Chad Ketsa and Duncan MacDonald scored for Kamloops in support of  Jake Birkland, who made 32 saves.

Polacik, Tyler White and Montana Gottfriedson recorded assists.

Kamloops plays three games at Memorial Arena this weekend — on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 16, at 1:15 p.m.

 

Blades sharp over Thanksgiving

The peewee recreation Blades skated to three victories on Thanksgiving Weekend.

Pierce Huser bulged the twine five times in the Blades' 7-5 win over Team 7 at Interior Savings Centre on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Connor Hall and Riley Moore added singles in support of netminder Ethan Herndier.

The Blades skated to a 6-4 victory over Team 9 on Sunday, Oct. 10.

Hall, Huser, Tyson Koehl (2), Jacob Pilon and Dawson Reid lit the lamp for the Blades.

Moore, Koehl, Reid, Huser (2), Pilon and Lee McKinnon (2) added assists.

Herndier earned the win between the pipes.

Arjun Gill,  Jordan Devries,  Keegan Emsland and Andrew Warner scored for Team 9.

Ethan Crawford (2), Josh Oldham and Jacob Stewart added assists.

Josh Humphrey was in net for Team 9.

Later on Sunday, the Blades blanked the Havoc 3-0.

Mckinnon and Huser (2) were the goal scorers, while Reid added a helper.

Herndier was between the popes for the Blades.

 

Trail tough on Blazers

The bantam tier 2 Maverick Motor Inn Kamloops Blazers were winless in Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association play on Thanksgiving Weekend in Trail.

Kamloops tied Trail 4-4 on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Troy Gerard, Alexander Buchanan (2) and Stefan Nesci scored for Kamloops.

Nesci (2), Gerard (2), Buchanan, Adam Toor, Kolten Moore and Matthew Fichter picked up assists.

Kolby Pauwels was in net for the Blazers.

The game was stopped in the third period after a Trail player was injured.

Trail topped Kamoops 3-1 on Sunday, Oct. 9.

Fichter scored Kamloops' only goal, which was assisted on by Buchanan and Gerard,

Spencer Eschyschyn was in net.
