Brown rink favoured at Cotter Junior Cash Spiel

The 12th annual Rick Cotter Junior Cash Spiel kicks off this weekend at the McArthur Island Curling Club.

The field includes six boys' teams and six girls' teams from Vancouver, Victoria, the Okanagan and Kamloops.

Canadian champion Corryn Brown and her Kamloops rink are favoured to win gold.

Play begins on Friday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m.

Saturday (Oct. 29) draws will be at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 30) draws are scheduled for 8 a.m. and, if tie-breakers are necessary, 11 a.m.

The final gets underway at 2 p.m.

A round-robin format will be used, with the top two teams from each side qualifying for the Sunday semifinals.

The quarter-final qualifiers will have the No. 1 boys' team playing the No. 2 girls' team and the No. 1 girls' team playing the No.  2 boys' teams.
