Sports: What's on in Kamloops

Back the Pack

The TRU WolfPack will have three teams in action this weekend in Kamloops.

TRU’s men’s hockey team is hosting a pair of games against the Selkirk College Saints at Memorial Arena.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, the WolfPack host the Saints at 8 p.m.

Neither team will get much rest before the rematch, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4

TRU’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams will each host a pair of games against the Trinity Western University Spartans on the weekend at the Tournament Capital Centre.

On Friday, Dec. 2, the women get underway at 6 p.m. with the men’s game to follow at 7:45 p.m.

On Saturday, the first serve in the women’s match will fly through the air at 5 p.m., with the men set to get underway at 6:45 p.m.

 

 

Behold the Blazers

After their first trip to Vancouver Island since Chilliwack moved to Victoria this summer, the Kamloops Blazers are back home for a pair of B.C. Division tilts.

Kamloops is hosting Prince George at Interior Savings Centre on Friday at 7 p.m.

Fans are asked to participate in the annual Teddy Bear/Tuque toss on Friday.

Victoria will pay a visit to the Blazers’ barn on Saturday, with puck-drop again scheduled for 7 p.m.

 

Catch some curling

McArthur Island Curling Club is hosting the third open event for berths in the Scotties B.C. women’s curling championship this weekend.

The top two teams will advance to the Scotties.

As of Tuesday, Nov. 29, there were three Kamloops rinks entered: Kristen Meersman, Karla Thompson and Patti Knezevic.
