Local skating clubs fare well in Lake Country

The Lake Country Figure Skating Competition was held from Friday, Dec. 2, to Sunday, Dec. 4, in Winfield.

There were eight skaters from Valleyview Skating Club (VSC) and seven skaters from Kamloops Skating Club (KSC) in attendance.

VSC

Mackenzie Sewell placed ninth in pre-introductory interpretive and sixth in pre-preliminary women's competition.

Holly Neufeld placed first in the introductory interpretive category and second in the preliminary women 11 and over division.

Haley Barber finished 11th in introductory interpretive and third in preliminary women 11 and over competition.

Cassandra Labermeyer won gold in bronze interpretive and bronze in junior bronze 13 and over action.

Kirsty Newbury placed fifth in bronze interpretive.

Lauren Mark placed eighth pre-preliminary women competition.

Megan Barber and Brenna Wassing earned silver in performance assessment.

KSC

Taylor Clark placed fourth in the pre-introductory interpretive division.

Georgia Lanzoni placed sixth in pre-introductory interpretive, second in pre-preliminary women and fourth in bronze creative competition.

Brittany Boyd placed fifth in the prelimary women 11 and over division and fifth in bronze creative,

Scotia Wojak won silver in preliminary women 11 and over competition.

Victoria Warner enjoyed a third-place finish in pre-preliminary women action and a sixth-place finish in the preliminary creative division.

Jazmin Barnes placed eighth in the junior bronze women 13-and-over division, while Katiana Reaney won silver in the same division.
