Spence helps her cause
Josie Spence had a strong performance at the Canadian Junior Short-Track Speed Skating Championships in Calgary on the weekend.
She finished 11th overall.
Spence, 17, came into the weekend ranked 21st in national junior female short-track speed skating rankings.
A member of the River City Racers, Spence placed ninth in the 1,500-metre,10th in the 500-metre, 15th in the 1,000-metre and 10th in the super 1,500-metre races.
She set a personal-best time of 47.5 seconds in the 500-metre race.
