Kamloops gymnasts will attend B.C. Winter Games
Three Kamloops Gymnastics Trampoline (KGTC) athletes qualified to represent Zone 2 (Thompson-Okanagan) at the B.C. Winter Games (BCWG) in Vernon in February.
Jennaya Motokado, Meghan McGillivray and Emily Matthew fared well at a Games qualifer — the Cobweb Invitational in Kelowna — on the weekend.
In the Level 4 All-Inclusive category, Motokado, 10, earned the silver all-around medal, winning gold on floor, bronze on bars and beam and fourth on vault.
McGillivray, in the Level 3 Open division, took home the gold all-around medal, placing first in vault, beam and floor.
In Level 3 Tyro competition, Matthew won silver all-around, placing first on bars, second on beam and fourth on floor.
KGTC coach Lisa Comazzatto will coach Zone 2 at the BCWG.
Lauren Wotton, Shayla Gifford, Emilee Gal, Taylor Gray, Kristina Dodd, Linnea Brickwood, Jade Wood, Chantal Martens, Ericka Campbell and Taylor Baxter round out the KGTC crew that attended the Kelowna meet.
