Blazers acquire proven scorer
The Kamloops Blazers added a big piece of the puzzle to their lineup on Saturday, Dec. 31.
General manager Craig Bonner acquired 20-year-old forward Brandon Herrod from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for forward Logan McVeigh, 17, and a second-round draft pick in the 2012 bantam draft,
“We are elated to add Brandon to our lineup," Bonner said.
"He is an experienced leader, serving as captain of the Raiders, and was voted as their playoff MVP last season.
"He is a proven scorer in our league and is known as a solid, character player."
Born in Meadow Lake, Sask., Herrod has racked up 18 goals and 36 points in 40 games this season with Prince Albert, bringing his career total to 106 goals and 241 points.
He will be in the lineup when the Blazers host the Prince George Cougars at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1.
