Sun Peaks Racers qualify for Games
Ten Sun Peaks Racers have qualified for the B.C. Winter Games after finishing well at the Teck Okanagan Zone Giant Slalom Races, which were hosted at Sun Peaks Resort earlier this month.
Zanna Farrell, Kate Cartwright, Sara Smith, Mackenzie Duff, Myka Jardine-Arnold, Nicola Costerton, Shaylyn Kovacs, Evan Monroe, Brian Buffel and Brennan Sorge are the Racers who qualified for the Games, which run from Feb. 23 to Feb. 26 in Vernon.
“The [Racers’] coaches Bill Rublee, James Clarkson, Matthias Schmid, Michael Lee and Jim Knowles all deserve a huge pat on the back for not only training the kids well on the hill, but for giving them the confidence and belief in themselves that they can do anything they set their minds on,” head coach John Crichton said.
