Kamloops rinks fall short at B.C. curling championship
Kamloops will not be represented at the 2012 national women’s curling championship, the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer.
Two Kamloops Curling Club skips — Allison MacInnes and Brenda Garvey — fell short at the B.C. championship, which wrapped up in North Vancouver on Sunday, Jan. 29.
MacInnes and her Kamloops rink posted a 4-5 record, while the Garvey rink was winless in nine draws.
Kelly Scott’s Kelowna rink edged Marla Mallet’s Royal City rink 6-5 in the final, scoring one in the 10th end to seal victory and clinch a spot in the national championship.
