Warriors clash with two formidable KMHA opponents

The Kamloops Warriors suffered a pair of losses in Novice Orange division play on the weekend.

On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Warriors fell 6-4 to the Kamloops Red Army at Brock Arena.

The Warriors lost 12-5 to the Silvertips on Sunday, Feb. 12, at Valleyview Arena.

Scoring goals on the weekend for the Warriors were Alesandro Comita, Joey Stankevich (2), Jakob Sherwood (2) and Mathew Ward (4).

Adding assists were Sherwood, Colten Yawney and            Brady McCutcheon.

Kaleb Preymak backstopped the Warriors on Saturday and Manny Recchi handled the goaltending duties on Sunday.

Scoring goals for the Red Army were Olen Gelineau, Brady Pawlachuck (2), Reagan Milburn (3), Brady Milburn, Matthew Mariona and           Devin Benson.

Mariona (2), R. Milburn and Mitch Harnett pitched in with assists.

Scoring for the Silvertips were Tyson Galloway (3), Braidon Clark (4), Brett MacDonald, Nathan Van Unen, Luke Petrie, Jake Poulsen and Ryan Mitchell.

Titans play Westside tough

The Kamloops Titans fell 3-2 to Westside in atom development play on the weekend.

Ben Ward and Will Alberts had the goals for the Titans, with Connor Milburn and Brendan Kirschner adding assists.

Adam Niles backstopped Kamloops.

Canadians stand pat

The Canadians took care of the Silvertips 13-4 in Novice Orange division play on the weekend.

Registering goals for the winning team were Brendan Hunchak (4), Elias Newport (2) and Logan Stankoven (7).

Adding assists were Hunchak, Stankoven, Newport (3), Samuel Lewis, Guiseppe Mazzei, Patrick Bennett and Jason Carroll.

Tristan Coetzer backstopped the Canadians.

Replying with goals for the ‘Tips were Tyson Galloway (2) and Luke Petrie (2).

Galloway, Nate Van Unen (2), Jake Poulsen and Ryan Mitchell added assists.

Braidon Clark was in net for the Silvertips.

Mystics earn split

The peewee tier 1 Kamloops Royal Purple Mystics split a pair of OMAHA Atom Developmental Koteles Conference games on the weekend.

On Saturday, the Mystics fell 9-0 to Vernon before bouncing back with a 3-2 win over Kelowna on Sunday.

Anna Morrish scored twice and Alexa Gibbons added a single in support of netminder Sydney Carter.
