Valleyview Skating Club fares well

Valleyview Skating Club brought 10 skaters to the Ogopogo Freeskate Competition in Penticton on the weekend (Feb. 10 to Feb. 12).

In pre-preliminary freeskate action, Mackenzie Sewell won a bronze medal, Jana DeJong came seventh and Lauren Mark placed 12th.

Haley Barber finished 10th in the introductory interpretive division.

In the bronze interpretive division, Kirsty Newbury won a bronze medal, Holly Neufeld finished fifth and Cassandra Labermeyer placed sixth.

In pre-introductory interpretive action, Sewell won a silver medal, DeJong placed fifth and Mark placed eighth.

Bryce Turner won a bronze medal in junior silver men’s freeskate competition.

In performance-level action, Brenna Wassing received a silver ribbon and Megan Barber received a bronze ribbon.

In the preliminary freeskate category, Neufeld won a silver medal and Barber placed eighth.

Cassandra Labermeyer won a bronze medal in the junior bronze freeskate.
