Long Blades on in Fort St. John

The Kamloops Long Blades were well-represented at the Canadian Long Track Speed-Skating Championships in Fort St. John on the weekend.

Dana Colter placed fifth overall in the T2T 12 category, with fifth-place finishes in the 300- and 500- metre distances, a fourth place finish in the 500-metre and a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-metre.

She placed fifth overall in her division. Colter was also fifth in the team relay.

Sylvie Lloyd, in the T2T 14 division, raced to fifth-place finishes in the 100- and 500-metre races, a seventh-place finish in the 300-metre and a 12th-place finish in the 3,000-metre.

She was fifth overall in her division. She also placed fifth in the team pursuit.

Rylan DeBeeld, in the T2T 14 division, was ninth in the 300-metre, and had 11th place finishes in the 3000-metre, 100-metre, and 500-metre races, good enough for 11th overall.

He won bronze in team pursuit.

Kris Pynten was second overall in the men's open category with silver medals in the 500-metre, 1,500-metre and 1,000-metre distances, and a bronze in the 3,000-metre.
