VSC brings eight to Armstrong
The Valleyview Skating Club brought eight of its members to the Okanagan figure-skating championships, which wrapped up on Sunday, March 4, in Armstrong.
In the pre-preliminary women’s freeskate division, Jana DeJong won gold, Mackenzie Sewell came fourth and Lauren Mark was seventh.
Sewell won bronze, DeJong placed fourth and Mark was fifth in pre-introductory interpretive action.
In preliminary women’s freeskate competition, Haley Barber finished sixth and Holly Neufeld was seventh.
Barber was seventh in the introductory interpretive division.
In bronze interpretive competition, Cassandra Labermeyer won gold, Kirsty Newbury won silver and Neufeld placed fifth.
Labermeyer placed 11th in the junior bronze women’s freeskate division.
In performance program, Megan Barber won a silver ribbon.
