Hockey projects: Women wanted
The City of Kamloops is doing its part to introduce women to street and ball hockey.
An eight-week — once a week on Monday nights — street-hockey course is scheduled to start on April 16 and wrap up on June 25.
“The exciting and energetic sport of street hockey has been played for decades, and now you have an opportunity to try it,” a city press release said.
All sessions will be held at Pineview Valley Park from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The registration fee is $50.
A city pilot project has been created with the goal of starting a women’s division in the Kamloops Ball Hockey League, but at least 20 women must be signed up by April 16.
The women’s division games would be played on Wednesdays from May 9 to June 27, with an 8:15 p.m. start time.
Call city sport development co-ordinator K-J Klontz at 250-828-3536 for more information or to register.
