Sports Council names board
The Kamloops Sports Council announced its board of directors for 2012-2013.
Peter Soberlak stepped down as president due to increased work and family commitments and was replaced by Henry Pejril.
Soberlak took over from Pejril in early 2010.
Barb Warsimage will serve as secretary treasurer, with Ron McColl serving as an associate member and chair of the Sport Development Committee.
Leesa Warner of the Kamloops Community Football Association will serve as a vice-president.
Catherine Johnson, an associate member, will chair the Tournament Capital Club.
Serving as vice-president and overseeing the fundraising committee will be Dino Bernardo of the Kamloops Junior Football Association.
Associate member Larry Read will oversee the awards committee, while Keith Liddiard of the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association will lead the membership committee.
The City of Kamloops, Pacific Sport, the Kamloops Blazers Sports Society, School District 73, Thompson Rivers University, St-John Ambulance, Chamber of Commerce, Interior Health, Tourism Kamloops and the Tk’emlups Indian Band will fill the board's remaining five seats.
