Heat win big in Penticton
The Kamloops Heat of the Pacific Coast Soccer League's (PCSL) premier women's division blazed to victory at the Penticon Soccer Club's May long weekend tournament.
Kamloops doubled the hometown Penticton Pinnacles 4-2 in the final.
The Heat did not allow a goal in three round-robin games, beating the Penticton Pink Panthers 4-0, the Calgary Cruisers 6-0 and the Portugese Club of Vancouver 6-0.
Rebecca Williams (6), AJ Morrison, Amanda Barrett (2), Marlie Rittinger (4), Taylor Miller (3) and Katie Sparrow (3) scored goals for Kamloops on the weekend.
Goalkeepers Emily Edmundson and Taylor Shantz split time between the Heat's pipes.
Kamloops is hosting the Fraser Valley Action in PCSL action at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, at Hillside Stadium.
