Tomassetti joins the Pack
The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack have signed their 10th prospect for the 2012-2013 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.
For the second time, they have gone to the Central Interior Senior Hockey League to nab a forward, centre Alessio Tomassetti of Quesnel.
He played last season for the Quesnel Kangaroos, notching 13 goals and 19 assists in 18 games, helping them to the Coy Cup Championship final.
Tomassetti will be taking the electrical trades program at TRU.
“I heard the TRU hockey program is a great one and its had a lot of success,” Tomassetti said.
“They have almost won the title a couple of times and I am hoping this year I can help bring it home.”
Tomassetti played three years of junior hockey, including the 2009-2010 campaign with the B.C. Hockey League's Merritt Centennials and the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League's Kamloops Storm.
“Some of my teammates there were Mike McCance (Whistler, BC), Tyler Jackson, Chase Edwards and Drew Defrias (all Kamloops, BC) ,” he says.
Pack GM Chris Hans is happy to have Tomassetti on board.
“Alessio is a player we have had on our radar for a couple of seasons now," Hans said.
"He is a dynamic player and I am sure will prove to be a great addition to our club."
