A first at TRU

Natasha MacKenzie of Kamloops is the first member of the TRU WolfPack women’s golf team.

“I think it’s great to start a women’s program at TRU,” head coach Bill Bilton Jr. said.

“It’s long overdue. Women’s golf has so many open doors and career opportunities.”

MacKenzie, a South Kamloops secondary graduate, is a second-year business student at TRU.

“I’ve been playing golf since 2008 and have been serious about the sport for three years,” she said.

“I was determined to get a job at a golf course and pursue a career in the golf industry. Luckily, I got a job at Tobiano.”

Bilton is hosting tryouts for the two remaining team spots at The Dunes at Kamloops on Thursday, Aug. 30, and Friday, Aug. 31.

Call Bilton at 778- 220-4064 or 250-579-3300 for more information.
