Summer swimming
Ben Branchflower of the Kamloops Summer Swim Club was drenched in gold after the B.C. Summer Swimming Association championships, which wrapped up in Nanaimo on Sunday, Aug. 19.
Swimming in the O Category 2 division, he placed first in the 50- and 100-metre freestyle events and the 50- and 100-metre fly races.
In Division 8 action, Jared Calder was eighth in the 50m free and 11th in the 100m free, and fifth in the 50m fly and seventh in the 100m fly.
Sebastian Martin, swimming in Division 2, was 20th in the 50m fly.
Kara Branchflower placed 24th in the 50m free in Division 2 girls’ competition.
Ben Branchflower and Calder were part of the Division 8 medley regional relay team that won silver.
