Rams best Broncos

Nick Downey and the hometown Langley Rams sunk the Kamloops Broncos in British Columbia Football Conference play at McLeod Athletic Park on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Downey, a receiver, caught one touchdown pass and returned two punts to paydirt in the first half, helping Langley to a 55-10 win.

Kamloops’ lone touchdown came on a 55-yard connection from quarterback Jesse Neufeld to receiver Brennan Plante.

Aaron Smit kicked a field goal and a convert for the visitors.

The Broncos are 1-4 ahead of a pivotal matchup with the Westshore Rebels of Victoria on Sunday, Sept. 16, on Vancouver Island.

Westshore sits third in the BCFC with a 4-1 record, behind the Vancouver Island Raiders of Nanaimo and the Rams, whom are tied atop the standings at 4-0-1.
