Pre-season records don't mean much, but wins are always better than losses.

The Kamloops Blazers finished the WHL exhibition season 5-0 after posting a 4-3 shootout victory over the Prince George Cougars on Friday, Sept. 14, at ISC.

Kamloops was down 3-0 heading into the third period.

Colin Smith and Dylan Willick scored before JC Lipon tied the game at 18:39 of the final frame.

Smith scored the only goal of the shootout.

Chase Witala, Daulton Siwak and Troy Bourke notched goals for the Cougars.

Blazer netminder Cole Cheveldave made 33 saves, while Devon Fordyce made 29 for Prince George.

Next up for the Blazers is the regular-season opener against Kelowna on Friday, Sept. 21, at Interior Savings Centre.
