Storm find success on road
The Kamloops Storm swept a three-game weekend Kootenay International Junior Hockey League road swing.
Kamloops downed the Braves 6-0 in Spokane on Friday, Oct. 12, then edged Beaver Valley 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 13, in Fruitvale before knocking off the Border Bruins 8-6 in Grand Forks on Sunday, Oct. 14.
Scoring on the weekend for Kamloops were Daniel Buchanan (4), Josh Rasmussen 2), Spencer Schoech, Jason Anderson (2), Ian Chrystal (2), Stefan Wood (2), Ryan Skinner, Taylor Ward and Austin Braid.
Marcus Beesley picked up wins between the pipes on Friday and Saturday, and he split time with Tyrell Hamer-Jackson on Sunday.
The Storm are playing the Heat in Chase tonight (Oct. 16). That game gets underway at 7 p.m. at Art Holding Memorial Arena.
Kamloops, at 6-2-0-2 sits tied for third with the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the Doug Birks Division with 14 points.
The North Okanagan Knights lead the division with 17 points.
