Olympic trio to speak in Kamloops
PacificSport Interior BC's Pathways to Sport Excellence conference will feature three Olympians — hammer thrower Sultana Frizell, shot putter Justin Rodhe and weightlifter Jeane Lassen.
“We’re so lucky to have all three Olympians here with us for the day," said PacificSport sport performance co-ordinatior Jennifer Joyce.
"This kind of opportunity is so meaningful and impactful for young athletes. Some of the lessons and wisdom they hear may stay with them for the rest of their careers.”
The free conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre on Saturday, Oct. 27.
The conference is designed to introduce concepts of strength and conditioning, sport nutrition and mental training to athletes, along with their parents and coaches.
