Kamloops prospects crack provincial teams
Hockey fans in Kamloops will have plenty to keep their eyes on at the Western Canada Under-16 Challenge Cup, slated to run from Nov. 1 to Nov. 4 in Calgary.
Kamloops products Kevin Davis, a defenceman, and Nick Chyzowski, a forward drafted by the Kamloops Blazers, cracked the Team B.C. squad, which will compete against the best Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba have to offer.
There are two more Blazer prospects — forward Jayden Halbgewachs (Saskatchewan) and defenceman Cameron Reagan (Alberta) — who will lace up the skates for their respective provinces.
Meanwhile, Emily Gervais of Kamloops has also made a provincial team.
She was one of 12 forwards named to B.C.'s roster for the national women's under-18 championship, which runs from Nov. 7 to Nov. 11 in Dawson Creek.
