Player of the month
Kamloops Blazer forward JC Lipon is the Western Hockey League’s player of the month for September-October.
The 19-year-old forward from Regina had an incredible start to the season, recording 40 points in 17 games.
He was twice named both the Canadian Hockey League and WHL player of the week.
Lipon is the league’s leading scorer, one point up on linemate Colin Smith, a 19-year-old centre from Edmonton.
