Wildcats' season ends in Vernon
The Vernon Yellow Jackets downed the Kamloops Wildcats 37-0 in peewee Southern Interior Football Conference semifinal play in Vernon on Sunday, Nov. 11.
Interceptions by Denzel Marican and Jacob Graf kept the Wildcats within reach of Vernon, but the Yellow Jackets' defensive core eventually swarmed the Wildcat offence.
Nick Berry anchored the Wildcat defence with eight solo tackles, with Rorik Munson, Callum Gorman, Cole Fink, Colby Griffiths, Gregory Griffiths and Dayton Tomlin combining for 14 more.
Wildcat Quarteback Carsen Day targeted receivers Mattias Nelson and Thomas Dyck for 25 yards, while Mike MacDonald and Ben Prokopetz racked up 52 combined yards on the ground.
Vernon will host either the Kelowna Lions or West Kelowna Sun Devils in the final on Sunday, Nov. 18.
