Male curlers fall short of provincials at playdown
Three Kamloops rinks — skipped by Scott DeCap, Brent Yamada and Michael Smith — fell short of qualifying for the Canadian Direct Insurance B.C. Men’s Curling Championship, to be held in Parksville from Feb. 5 to Feb. 10.
Vernon rinks skipped by Trevor Perepolkin and Jamie Sexton earned the two Okanagan berths, decided at a playdown in Kelowna on the weekend.
The winner of the provincial championship will represent B.C. at the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier, which runs from March 2 to March 10 in Edmonton.
