Storm to welcome the Knights
December has not been kind to the Kamloops Storm, but the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League club can still enter the Christmas break on a high note.
The Storm — who have won only once in six games this month — are hosting the North Okanagan Knights at McArthur Island Sports and Events Centre on Friday, Dec. 21.
Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
Kamloops (13-17-2-4) is fourth in the Okanagan-Shuswap Conference’s Doug Birks Division, 14 points back of the division-leading Sicamous Eagles.
The Knights are just three points back of top spot in the Birks Division.
Leading the Storm in scoring this season is Daniel Buchanan, with 14 goals and 36 points. Josh Rasmussen, who has played three fewer games than Buchanan, is just one point back, with 10 goals and 35 points.
Marcus Beesley has done the lion’s share of the goaltending, posting a 10-18-2 record, with a 3.32 goals-against average and .916 save percentage.
