A defensive battle it was not.
The Kamloops Blazers downed the Vancouver Giants 9-5 in front of a sold-out crowd at Interior Savings Centre on Saturday, Dec. 29.
Cole Ully and Tim Bozon netted three goals apiece, with Brendan Ranford, Colin Smith and Chase Souto rounding out the home team's scoring.
Jackson Houck scored a hat-trick for Vancouver.
Cain Franson and Tristan Sieben also scored for the Giants, who stuck with Tyler Fuhr between the pipes.
Cole Cheveldave did not have his best night in the crease for Kamloops and he was replaced by Taran Kozun in the second period.
The Blazers outshot the Giants 38-22.
Nine goals is the most the Blue and Orange have scored in a single game this season.
The Blazers and Giants will meet again in Vancouver on Jan. 2.
