Blazers down Rebels
The Kamloops Blazers brought their winning streak to four games with a 5-3 win over the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Interior Savings Centre.
JC Lipon had four points, including two goals, and Brendan Ranford notched a goal and three points, with Marek Hrbas and Chase Souto adding singles to round out the Kamloops goal scoring.
Cole Cheveldave made 24 saves in the win.
Kamloops is playing the Giants in Vancouver on Wednesday, Feb. 13, before returning home for the front end of a pivotal home-and-home series against the Kelowna Rockets.
The Blazers are hosting the Rockets at ISC on Friday, Feb. 15, with the rematch slated for Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Little Apple.
Game time on Friday is 7 p.m.
Kelowna, which sits second in the Western Conference behind Portland, is seven points up on third-place Kamloops.
The Rockets have played one more game than the Blazers.
