The Portland Winterhawks ended the Kamloops Blazers' seven-game winning streak, earning a 3-0 victory at Interior Savings Centre on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

Mac Carruth, who made 27 saves, posted the shutout for Portland, his seventh of the season, a franchise record.

Scoring for the Winterhawks were Troy Rutkowski, Brendan Leipsic and Nicolas Petan.

Leipsic was a thorn in the Blazers' side from the get-go. He finished the game with a goal, an assist and eight penalty minutes.

Cole Cheveldave made 17 saves and took the loss for Kamloops, which will regroup and head to Vancouver to play the Giants on Friday, Feb. 22.

Portland will square off with the Cougars in Prince George on Friday.

The Blazers remain three points back of the Kelowna Rockets, who are atop the B.C. Divison.
