Giants squash Blazers

The Vancouver Giants sent the Interior Savings Centre faithful home unhappy, with their beloved Kamloops Blazers having lost 5-3 on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

Giants' netminder Jared Rathjen stopped 34 shots and deserves credit for his part in the victory.

Brendan Rouse scored twice for Vancouver, with Dalton Sward, Cain Franson and Travis McEvoy adding singles.

Chase Souto was the best Blazer, with a goal and a fight on the night.

Taran Kozun took the loss in net, making 33 saves on 38 shots.

Joel Edmundson and JC Lipon rounded out the home team's scoring.

Next up for Kamloops are the Cougars in Prince George on Friday, March 1, a night before a rematch with the Giants at ISC on Saturday, March 2.

Game time is 7 p.m.

Kamloops is hosting Kelowna on Sunday, March 3. Puck-drop is slated for 6 p.m.
