Money for mats
The Kamloops Judo Club (KJC) needs the community’s help to raise money for new mats.
In order to receive a donation from the Kamloops Sports Legacy Fund, the KJC — a non-profit organization that has existed since 1956 — needs to raise $12,000.
“Our two sets of judo mats are 30 and 45 years old, respectively,” a club press release said.
“We would be very appreciative if you could help us to achieve our fundraising goal.”
Donors can enter the sponsor-a-mat program, pay $100 per mat and have their name engraved on a plaque that will hang in the club’s dojo, or give an amount of their choice. Cash and cheques are accepted.
