Wilson gets HOF nod
Olympic and Commonwealth Games rower Robert Wilson will be inducted to the Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame on April 13 at the TRU Grand Hall.
Highlighting Wilson's career was a silver medal at the 1956 Olympic Summer Games in Melbourne, Australia, where he placed second in eight-man rowing with Team Canada.
The Kamloops-born athlete won gold medals for Canada at the 1954 and 1958 Commonwealth Games, along with three national-championship titles with UBC — in 1954, 1956 and 1958.
He will be inducted alongside Mark Recchi, Kelly Smith and Brian Peters. The 1955-1956 North Kamloops Mohawks baseball team will also be inducted.
