The streak had to come to an end some time.

For the Blazers, that time was Thursday, Nov. 1, in Kelowna, where the Rockets prevailed 3-0.

The loss to Kelowna ended Kamloops' remarkable winning streak at 14 games and stopped Colin Smith's point streak at 17 games.

Kamloops is now 16-1-1for 33 points and remains atop the Western Hockey League standings.

Kelowna is now 9-6-2 for 20 points and is second to the Blazers in the B.C. Division, followed by Victoria (9-6-0, 18 points), Prince George (7-7-1, 15 points) and Vancouver (4-11, 8 points).

The Blazers' game in Kelowna was their fifth in seven days, a stretch that includes back-to-back contests at home, a game in Seattle the following night and matches in Everett and Kelowna.

The club laces them up again on Friday, Nov. 3 (its sixth game in eight nights) when the Prince George Cougars visit Interior Savings Centre for a 7 p.m. start.

The Cougars have had a six-day break heading into the game and enter the contest having played 15 games to Kamloops' 18.

The Blazers will have a weekend break before hosting the defending WHL-champion Edmonton Oil Kings on Tuesday, Nov. 6. That will be followed by a back-to-back-to-back three-game road trip south of the border, to visit Spokane on Friday, Nov. 9, Tri-City on Saturday, Nov. 10, and Portland on Sunday, Nov. 11.
