A $50,000 win over coffee for Kamloops woman

Tammy Blackie is scratching her way to Penticton, with a new phone.

Kamloops resident Tammy Blackie said she is riding a “crazy roller-coaster of emotions” after winning $50,000 from a BCLC Lucky Lines Scratch & Win ticket.

Blackie purchased the winning ticket from Canco Wash on Tranquille Road in North Kamloops and was later enjoying a cup of coffee in her backyard when she decided to scratch the ticket.

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I could not believe it,” she recalled.

Blackie plans to put her win toward a new phone — as well as a move to Penticton.
