KTW Christmas Cheer Fund: IG Wealth Management adds to the total

IG Wealth Management has been supporting the Christmas Cheer Fund for the past 16 years and this year’s donation brings the company’s cumulative total to $47,642.91

We’re nearing the end of the holiday season, which means we are also closing in on the end of the KTW Christmas Cheer season, but that doesn’t mean donations are slowing down.

In fact, at this point each December is right when some of the biggest donations start coming through the doors of Kamloops This Week’s office on Dalhousie Drive.

Just last week, we received a donation of $4,772 from IG Wealth Management, courtesy of Dean Nicholson and the rest of the very, very generous staff at the Columbia Street office.

IG Wealth Management has been supporting the Christmas Cheer Fund for the past 16 years and this year’s donation brings the company’s cumulative total to $47,642.91.

We honestly can’t thank them enough.

We have also received substantial donations from the Free Radicals Hockey Club (more on their generosity in this Friday’s edition of KTW), Jim Doan and his Western Karate Academy students, the staff at Country Auto Sales, Kamloops Seniors Village and more.

Kamloops was recently named the most generous city in Canada by the GoFundMe website and the consistent support the KTW Christmas Cheer Fund receives each year is proof positive of such accolades.

There are so many local groups in need of support that it would be easy for some to be overwhelmed and simply close the door on all requests.

Instead, Kamloopsians open their wallets to give — and they keep giving, as followers of the KTW Christmas Cheer Fund know.

If you haven’t had the chance to donate to the great cause and see your name in the list on the facing page, it’s not too late.

We’ll be continuing to take donations for the next few weeks because every dollar counts and every contribution helps.

Even just a few dollars can go a long way toward assisting those in the city being supported by Christmas Cheer’s four organizations: Kamloops Brain Injury Association, Out of the Cold shelter, The Mustard Seed and the Y Women’s Emergency Shelter.
