Firefighter calendars now on sale

Kamloops firefighters hope to raise thousands of dollars for charity with their 2017 calendar, which is now available for purchase.

"One-hundred per cent of the calendar money goes directly to charity -- 50 per cent to the B.C. Firefighters Burn Fund and 50 per cent to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation for One South," said firefighter Cody Poirier, the calendar's co-ordinator. "As firefighters, we live, work and play in the community. It's a good opportunity to give back."

Poirier said calendar sales have been brisk.

"So far, it's going great," he said. "Everybody seems to like the calendars. Usually we start picking up in October, November, December."

Calendars are available for $20 at Kamloops Fire Rescue Station 1 at Summit Drive and Arrowstone Drive and at various community events around the city.
