Kamloops Last Week 69 — Bedard, Paddock, Middleton

The Tattle of Hastings segment that includes clips from Paddock and Bedard begins at 28:18.

Episode 69 of Kamloops Last Week includes clips from press conferences that featured hockey phenom Connor Bedard of the Regina Pats and his head coach and GM John Paddock.

We are also joined by Kamloops city councillor Margot Middleton (at the 9:54 mark).

The Tattle of Hastings segment that includes clips from Paddock and Bedard begins at 28:18.

Bedard talks of squaring off against reigning CHL player of the year Logan Stankoven and dealing with the media mob on this B.C. Division road trip.

The testy media scrum with Paddock includes questions on the possibility of trading Bedard. The Kamloops Blazers, who host the Pats on Wednesday and the Memorial Cup next year, have long been rumoured as a trade destination for Bedard.

Paddock insists he will not deal the generational superstar.

Middleton speaks of her business acumen and how it will help her work on council, provides her take on Kamloops Mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson’s unwillingness to stop his unwelcome shelter visits and talks of homelessness, mandatory treatment and her desire to help local youth.

Middleton, who enjoys jigsaw puzzles, is also asked about plans to donate her annual after-tax council pay to local charities.

The KLW crew takes a trip (5:02) to Inks Lake on a windy day, with stops at Nu Leaf Produce Market, Gord’s Appliance and Mattress Centre and McDonald’s.
