The City of Kamloops has taken a creative approach to a problematic dumpster behind Memorial Arena downtown.
A yellow dumpster, which has been tagged with graffiti on numerous occasions, has been transformed into the city’s first so-called street art dumpster.
“We were constantly needing to go back there and paint it yellow,” City streets and environmental services manager Glen Farrow told KTW.
Farrow said the city hired someone to create the art, noting certain locations in the city would benefit from a street art dumpster.
He hopes it will curb those who feel the world is their canvas.
