A Kamloops woman has scratched her way to $50,000.
Merna Johnston purchased a Money Wreath scratch and win ticket at the lottery kiosk in Northills Centre in North Kamloops and returned to the booth to check it.
The retailer scanned her ticket and, upon realizing it was worth $50,000, she yelled with excitement: “You broke my machine, Merna!”
“It was a complete shocker,” Johnston said. “This is my second big win. I won once before playing bingo, so it feels great to win again.”
Johnston said she plans to pay some bills with her welcome windfall and invest the rest.
