Newshounds and history buffs rejoice — a local digital archive has been updated, with new content from the city’s longes- running newspaper, the Kamloops Daily Sentinel, dating back to 1909.
NewsHound is an online archive, the result of a partnership between the Kamloops Museum and Archives, Thompson Rivers University Library and the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library.
A grant was provided by the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre’s BC History Digitization Project.
The archive includes records from Kamloops This Week and the Kamloops Daily News. The most recent update includes digitized from microfilm the Kamloops Daily Sentinel, from 1909 to 1972, and the Kamloops Standard, from 1914 to 1924.
