The Royal Inland Hospital’s Clinical Services Building parkade will remain closed until Aug. 18.
The parkade at Columbia Street and Third Avenue is the one used by visitors to the hospital.
Interior Health said the parkade requires a complete closure to replace the traffic coating that protects the concrete surface from seasonal road grime (salt and sand). The existing coating is no longer effective and requires replacement prior to the winter season.
Interior Health said the closure is taking place during the summer months, when staffing levels and patient and visitor levels are lower that during other seasons.
Patient and visitor parking will be moved to the staff parkade at the top/back of RIH during the closure, while staff parking will be made available throughout various locations surrounding Royal Inland Hospital.
