On Wednesday, March 29, a group of city councillors attended a fire boot camp session at the Kamloops Fire Rescue Training Centre, at 1460 Bunker Road in the McGill Road industrial area.
Councillors Nancy Bepple, Stephen Karpuk, Margot Middleton, Katie Neustaeter and Bill Sarai participated in activities related to the role and duties of a firefighter.
The event saw the five elected representatives don firefighter gear and take part in putting out a fire, doing vehicle extrication, searching a smoke-filled structure learning fire ground survival training.
